Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how University Sports Council (USC) (a department of the Student Welfare Wing at Lovely Professional University (LPU)) handles your information when you register, order sports kit, or otherwise use https://www.unisportscouncil.co.in. We collect only what we need to run USC registrations, events and kit orders.

Information we collect

• Identity & contact: name, registration number, email, phone, date of birth, gender.
• Academic: school and course.
• Participation & orders: the event/sport(s) or kit you register or pay for, and accommodation (hostel / day-scholar).
• Guardian & safety: guardian name and phone, and any medical conditions/blood group you share — used only for participant safety during events.
• Payment reference: your Razorpay order and payment IDs. We do not collect or store your card/UPI/bank details — those are handled entirely by Razorpay.

How we use it

• To process your registrations, kit/jersey orders and event participation, and to confirm payment (including your confirmation email with an Order ID).
• To organise events and trials, form teams, arrange kit, and contact you about them.
• For participant safety and emergencies during events.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with: our payment processor Razorpay (to take payment), and USC sports officials/coordinators who run the events. We may disclose information if required by law.

Storage & security

Data is stored securely on our hosted database (Supabase) with restricted access. Payment card details are never stored by us.

Retention

We keep records for as long as needed for the season's events and reasonable record-keeping, after which they may be deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing usc.sww@lpu.co.in.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses essential cookies needed for it to function, such as keeping you signed in where applicable. These are always active because the site cannot work without them.

We also use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit and how they reach the site, so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address (shortened before it is stored), the pages you view, and general information about your device and browser. It does not receive your name, email address, registration number or any other detail you give us.

Analytics only runs if you agree to it.When you first visit, we ask. If you choose “No thanks”, the Google Analytics code is never loaded and no analytics cookie is set — we do not simply record your refusal and continue. The site behaves identically either way, and nothing about buying kit, registering for a tournament or following a live match depends on your answer.

Your choice is stored in your own browser, not on our servers. To change it, clear your browser’s site data for this website and you will be asked again on your next visit.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share your information with advertisers.
